Help 4G Problems

I live in an area that is supposed to have 4G connection (Houston, TX) but my Thunderbolt keeps switching to 3G. Its driving me crazy! Does anyone have any ideas about why this is happening(like a setting i need to change or something)?

Someone posted an actual 4g map a while back. It was/is surprisingly accurate and shows 4g deadzones. I'd go to vzw and see if you are close to a 4g deadzone. I know my work is dead smack in the middle of 4g coverage, and my house is covered in 4g. But two blocks down (where my run route takes me) 4g is dead. This is for Plano TX (DFW) and is shown on the vzw map.

I checked on VZW website (they have a thing where you type in your address and it tells you if you are covered) and it said i should have 4g service...i guess it was wrong

EDIT: Thats weird i just had 4g service for a minute but then it went away

Well I'm in a 3G place and I'm only getting 1x. I took it in and they talked with support for about an hour. Eventually they found out that a lot of people were having problems like that today. who knows.

Just called Verizon for this issue, they said it is an open support ticket and people have already been calling about this. It is a network issue and should be fixed by Monday, if not, then it will be an issue with my phone.

My house is in the middle of 4G coverage so it shouldn't be an issue, but my speed tests are around 500k and occasionally my upload jumps to 17000k, very random.
