So I found this setting on my network sertings. When I try to set it to lte/cdma I lose my signal entirely. Has anyone else come across this?

I've found that changing the preferred mobile network mode causes the phone to drop the existing mobile network connection and then reestablish it using the new setting. If you tell it to prefer LTE/cdma but you don't have LTE coverage where you are, it might take longer to reestablish your cdma/3g connection because it tries LTE first.

Ahhh ok so then it's just shoddy lte connection? It's just strange that it didn't establish a cdma connection when it can't find lte though when it's just cdma it finds a signal fast.

You might also want to check if the connection optimizer is on. When on it is constantly trying to find the best and fastest signal. When I had it on, it would eat through my battery in no time looking for a higher speed signal which did not exist where I live.
