They just posted recently that we might finally get our "4G" turned on sometime in April. I wonder if there are two software updates or one?
 
We shall see I hope so, really not a deal breaker for me I mainly use wifi anyway. My point is if I'm paying $30 a month for an unlimited data plan I should be able to enjoy the network as people using an Iphone 4get.
 
HSUPA is not 4G an will not give you 4G speeds, but they will be better than what you have now. HSPA+ is 4G speed.
 
why is everybody jumping for joy over faster upload speeds? i'd like to know when we're going to get some decent DOWNLOAD speeds? 2 or 3 mpbs down STINKS. thank god for wifi.
 
So all At t customers with so called 4g data plans an our 4g phones are going to get a nice rebate an extra free minutes for the last couple months of non 4g data service???? I'm holding my breath, waiting to be lied to AGAIN!

Faster upload speeds tend to mean lower latency which makes for a MUCH snappier browsing and internet experience.

This is not true 4g, atrix, inspire, etc wont get "true" 4g ever. You will have to wait for ATT to deploy LTE and LTE phones.
 
You mean 3G speeds in April finally :)
Ask anyone with a 3G phone to do a speedtest and they'll get the same download speeds as our atrix and 5x the upload speed. When they enable it in April, our upload speeds will be on par with 3G and our download speeds will remain the same. My girlfriends verizon iphone has faster data speeds than my "4G" atrix.

Still no word on their enhanced backhaul progress...
