Root 4G to LTE icon

Hi. Was wondering if anyone can help me out. I'm pretty comfortable rooting and changing ROMS...
I used to be running LiquidSmooth ROM but recently went back to stock to get the 4.3 update. Figured I would stay stock for a while but that didn't last lol.
I rooted again and enabled LTE again. My question is, before on running LiquidSmooth ROM, it was very easy changing the 4G icon to LTE. I've been on the internet for a couple days now and can't seem to figure out how to change the icons running The stock ROM.
There are a few vidoes and forums, but they are old and are showing the process running a Custom ROM.
Any ideas out there?

I was looking into the same thing & found this: Collection of Signal Icon Mods.
But decided not to bother cause it would just be another thing I would have to remove before an update.

Well on some custom roms you cant change and some you can . On the stock roms the same way . This is due to the framework res . But you can try it through the app called rom toolbox or nija morph . Follow the direction and make a backup before you do any changes . Nija morph can change apps and framework res .
