Root [5.1.1][UNOFFICIAL] Paranoid Android 5.1 [12.30.2015]

@Seraph08, Meticulus' github is no longer private, I believe the fix is only in the kernel. I don't know if it will screw up data on phones with sims or not. I don't know if anyone with XT1032/33 have tried it. It's posted in the OP here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-t3036120
I asked if the patches were just in the kernel over at XDA and mightysween said he doesn't believe so. He thinks the fix is in the device tree. I have no idea myself, just passing the info on. Because if the patches were just in the kernel, wouldn't we be able to just flash the kernel from his CM12 rom to any CM12 based rom and it work?

It figures, after all that work on data, there are fixes that should be added into CM12 nightlies soon. A rom was just built with them and data is working.

Yup you beat me to it but here's the post...
[quote name="itslels" post=59745270]So does this mean it doesn't break the sim variants? And that developers wouldn't need to make a special ROM just for cmda users?[/QUOTE]

"Ethan commented on that patch earlier and said:
Ethan ChenMar 15 8:50 PM
Patch Set 2:
"This would appear to be safe for non-CDMA as well."

So it seems it is safe, someone should probably test it though."

Good news all around, we should see business picking up significantly. [emoji1] [emoji106]

I clean flashed Cody's build with the new commits and I don't have a screen flicker except in recovery as usual and the only other anomaly is "baseband unkown" in about phone. So looks like CM has addressed it.

I know...don't get me wrong, I don't dislike CM believe me its the base and or inspiration for almost every other rom in existence but I've just found since about CM9 its gotten slower and more "code bloated" ...I guess either pure AOSP or AOSPA just appeals to the purist in me. I've always found it clean and minimal and has all the features I actually use. Anyway can't wait to see this bad boy drop. Thanks Seraph08!!! [emoji106] [emoji4]

*update*

OK, So I haven't slept, AOSPA right now cannot have these fixes applied. Half the repo including the vendor files are being pulled from the staging 12.1 branch. I've tried spinning up the dependencies a few different ways, no takes. Not giving up exactly, it's just no longer the only thing I'm working on with these patches anymore.

I've been running it since he uploaded it and all seems pretty good. SMS to. ☺

Native SMS is working?
Well, it was when I first installed it but I started using a TBO black messenger app and now the stock apps send button isn't working. I swear it was and I couldn't get the messenger app to work before with Meticulus last build so I used 8sms. I did keep losing data after a reboot until I added a few build.prop lines so maybe that broke it.

You know I came across this phone when it was already approaching a year old...I needed a work phone and something I wouldn't need therapy for if I dropped it from a roof or scaffolding (Even with a ballistic case I was nervous with my N5 lol)... Anyway boostmobile was having a $45.00 port in unlimited talk/text and 5GB data and a free Moto G...anyway had a old Blackberry laying a around still active on the company account. Ported it and long story short this device has been a jewel and has a Dev following only second to Nexus devices IMO, Kind of mind blowing given the target demographic. Just wanted to thank all the developers who keep this device viable in the dev community and Motorola who still officially supports it. This has been one of those rare deals where you actually get more than you pay for, or in my case paid nothing for lol. I love this phone. Now if someone could just find the secret 32GB of hidden storage. [emoji12] [emoji106]
