5.1 sound

On the stock media player, the 5.1 sound function can be used only if sound effects are off. But I'm not seeing any way to clear all the buttons in the Equalizer and Effect menus. Is there a setting I'm missing?

Actually it only works with your headset/earbuds or external speakers. Whatever is plugged into the phone.

Yep, I know! Still can't figure out how to shut those settings off. Actually, Equalizer is off; no idea how I did that. But Effect is still on.

On another front, I know I saw a "never" setting to keep the screen from timing out, but I'll be darned if I can find it again.

To turn off effects, set it to Normal (Should be the second on the list, after Auto)

Screen Time Out:

My Device (T-Mobile app in the launcher), Quick Tools (at the top), Screen Timeout.

(If you just go to settings, Never is not an option)

Setting to normal didn't do it.
But thanks for the screen timeout setting!

Set both Equaliser & Effect to Normal and you'll then be able to toggle the 5.1 on & off.

I had to reset my phone recently and now this all works OK (resetting to normal to get 5.1 to work).

But I swear it didn't work like that before the reset
