5000 mAh External Battery

I bought one of these a couple of months ago for the sole purpose of backpacking. It didn't take long and I was using it almost every day just as a backup power source when I couldn't plug in. I did a test soon after I got it and managed to go a full 75 hours with heavy use (data, GPS, wifi, and the works) without having to plug either my phone or the charger into a wall before both died. I thought that was pretty impressive. At only $37, I think its a pretty good thing to have for anybody who is worried about extended battery life with our new obsession.

That's bad ass, thanks! Summer vacation is just around the corner. (18 hour car ride to San Antonio)
Just bought one. (for my kids) Any chance plugging two devices in at the same time? Might have to buy two..

how fat does that make your phone?

It's not a battery that goes into your phone. you charge it separately from your phone and then plug your phone into it when you need the power. Its only about as big as the phone itself though so not too difficult to keep close (i.e. in the car)

I've seen even bigger ones, something like 8,700 mAh, but obviously the size and weight increase. Best use of this kind of product might be to use it for a second battery & external charger so you'll always have a fresh, thin battery ready.

I got one of these at Home Depot for $40 and it has a USB outlet for charging or powering phones, 'though I'd be a little afraid to recharge an expensive, new ThunderBolt without first checking with an electrician or somebody that understands volts, amps, and that kind of thing. Too heavy to go backpacking with, but I keep it in the trunk of one of my cars.

I dont think you can plug two devices in at one time. However, it charges my phone as fast as a wall charger so you could get yours charged then hand if off to the next in line.

Yeah that's a great device for when you're going to be away from a charger for a long period of time. I did a 5 day camping trip over the summer away from any kind of electricity but I brought my Incredible with me along with a 3500, 2x 2150 , and 2 knock off 3000mah batteries to get me through the trip I ended up only using the 3500 and 1 of the 2150 but they were there if I needed .
