7" Epad made in China

Hi.
I have just received nice toy from China. 7" ePad CPU VIA 533Mhz with 256mb memory, Firmware 1.6 Kernel 2.6.29-00236-g4f8dbbb-dirty, Build# 1.7.4
Now as this is brand new field to me I would like to know if there is posible to update Android to 2.1 or 2.2 from what I have. My problem is that I am not able to download anything from Apps market. Get stuck on start downloading. Maybe new ver. would help. I have no problem to download from apps store.
Any sugestions?

While I'm no expert on that particular tablet I think that you might have a problem getting the VIA CPU working with Android 2.x.
 
try downloading slideme at slideme.org. It has a lot of good apps for devices that can't connect to the market.

I think the VIA CPUs are old ARM9s but with 256MB of RAM should make it quite usable at 1.6 or 1.5. :) Enjoy.
 
Thank you Icarafu Slideme works nice. I am still confused about posible updates to Android Op from 1.7 to 2.2
