$70 credit for premier customers still available

Yeah, they only gave me $10 (one-time). I remember some reps saying I rejected the renewal credit--that's where the problem started (I did NOT reject the credit).

Here's the kicker. The last time I called before actually ordering the Evo, I was 2 days before 6 months remaining. Hmm.. but I'm sure if I attempted to return the phone and redo it all, I'd be rejected still. Still haven't opened my phone though :P

I was denied too. IBM member, 10yrs, 3 phones/lines and still denied.

I guess they tightened up. Maybe too much.

Verizon gets the Evo ??

I tried again...ugh! It looks like I have bad luck.

Elisha C: You have already upgraded your phone.

9:58:41 AM :
Elisha C: I am sorry, it is not possible to apply 2 discounts at a time.

TAYLOR: it's just that my friend and I were both offered the same credit (we both happen to have the same plan, phone, contract dates since we do most of our Sprint dealings together) and he was able to get the credit applied and I've been denied. It seems you just have to get lucky with who you get in customer service it seems.

Elisha C: We have already informed you regarding this.

Yall are just better of calling them instead of chatting! My contract was over on Febuary of this year but renewed it when the evo was released on June4 without knowing about the reward program. I had mentioned that Sprint didn't mentionied anything before I renewed due to the release of the evo. They granted the $70 credit! I also mentioned that Ive been a sprint member since 1999 with four phones on my acct! Is it really worth lossing a customer over $70 if I spent $2340 with them a year? The supervisor was like hmmmmm...Let me see something! Then applied the credit!

I just got denied through chat...

Kevin-Lee P From Sprint Chat said:
09:48:45 : Kevin-Lee P: The service credit of $70.00 is applied to the subscription, if the contract has already satisfied or will get satisfied within the next 6 months.

09:49:20 : Kevin-Lee P: You have already purchased a new handset at the discounted price. Therefore, it is not possible to apply $70.00 credit on your account.

09:49:55 : Kevin-Lee P: Unfortunately, it is not possible to avail both the offers together on your account. You can opt either of the both the offers.

09:50:05 : Kevin-Lee P: I am sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.
BOOO :(
I'll try to call later.

Well... After reading all the posts in this thread, I decided to give it a shot too. My girlfriend and I have an everything family plan but we only just upgraded 11 months ago. I decided to use the chat button instead of calling... The first two times I tried I got the same thing "You can either have $70 off of each line, or a discount on upgraded phones, you can't have both"

I was about to give up but decided to try one last time. I used the chat once again and was told the same thing again, "One or the other." I decided to not just accept that this time. I told the guy that my friend had just recieved both a discount on two phones, and $70 off of both lines, and that it's ridiculous that he was able to recieve that and yet I can't even though I've been a sprint memeber for 8 years! He told me to hold on, came back a few mins later and told me I could get both!!!

So I placed my order today...

Blackberry 8530 (for girlfriend) for $50
HTC Evo (On backorder) for $199
I get $140 discount
I also get $130 for our "old phones" that they're buying back.
So when all is said and done... We get two brand new phones for free and $20 off my next bill!!!

Thanks for creating this thread! Worked great for me!

P.S. If anyone wants to see the transcript let me know and I'll post it up. I hope everyone can work something out.

renewed my contract on Friday 6/11/10 and got my evo. Saw this in the forum and called Sprint on Sunday. They looked into my acct and said no problem giving me the $70. Thanks for this article I got the $70 bucks!

I called and specifically asked to speak to the retentions dept, I spoke to a guy and I asked about receiving a $70.00 sprint loyalty credit that I get every 2 years for renewing my contract(been with sprint over 10 years) and the guy said no problem I will apply that for you right now.

Simple 5 minute call.

Upgraded to the EVO and extended my contract on the 4th. I found this thread and called today. Was denied the $70, they said it was not available for my account. Asked to talk to a manager and was lied to. Said after looking at my account, he would send me a link to sign up for the credit union discount. That never came.

Began another chat this afternoon complaining of how I was lied to and never sent the link. Got lots of apologies but was told again there was nothing they could do. She noticed that I already had a government employee discount on my account and said that I couldn't combine that and the credit union discount. She met me half way. My employee discount was %10 so she bumped that to %15.

Not exactly what I had contacted them for, but anything a little cheaper is better. Good luck all. Be persistant!! :D

Call back... with Sprint as with any other carrier / service it depends on who you speak with.

I called about a half an hour ago and was told no.. no ... no... and no.... I made it to retentions and told them it was BS to be told that the $70 credit is only available to those they can hook, once I've signed my contract I'm no good anymore... Amy, the retentions dept rep, said she understood and she would speak to her supervisior... 30 sec's later she said she would add the $70 credit.... However, I began to think while I was waiting... I have a Palm Pre and a HTC Hero (my wifes using the Hero now) that I could trade in with Sprint's buy back program and I also know that my wife is only eligable for the $75 credit....

I did some math. $479 - $63 (Palm Pre) - $80 (Htc Hero) - $75 credit for upgrading wife - $140 ($70 per line as some have said here) = $121 for a EVO for the Wife...

When Amy came back on the line I pitched this to her and she again asked if she could put me on hold and almost immediatly got back to me and said yes.... Right now, she has submitted the $140 credit (regardless if I buy an EVO!!!) based on me saying so (I entend to)

Basically what I'm saying is don't quite.... If your not convinced yet, last year I called, was lied too as well regarding my Pre and ultimatly with a month of calling (I called twice / three times a week) for a month and was given... yes given a brand new Palm Pre.... that the extra Pre I have for buy back....

Question for all of you that called in and spoke to someone regarding the credit... How long did it take before it appeared on your account?

instant for me.

Ok, I am going to call them back then... I did this on Friday and still no credits applied. I am also going to ask for my other line that I just upgraded a month or so ago to get the credit since #1 I didn't know about it and #2 me having to call back into find out whats going on with the first credits.

Well I made sure to ask for the discounts on my current bill... If you're close to the end of your billing cycle maybe they put it on your next month statement?

Thanks to the OP and all the people that have contributed to this thread. I called and got my $70.00 credit and I still have upgrade eligibility in 4 months. Wasn't hard at all but they did try to say they never heard of it. I did online chat and it worked out good. They wouldn't budge on the $10.00 credit though....oh well.

Thanks for the link Neoshi. Without it I couldn't do online chat. I used your link and got right in. For some reason when I go directly through the sprint website, chat was down.

Chatting with the sprint online rep got me the 70 off but as i found out the online rep never applied it, so i had to call and have them apply it again, thank goodness for the email of the chat log for reference!

I also found out premier members get the upgrade fee credited as well, but one thing that's annoying is the pro rating of the bills when you upgrade which makes your bill after an upgrade look slight ly higher, either easy im happy as this months bill is only $12

Got the $10/24 months deal also after alittle persuasion. :) Think alot of it depends on who you get and they're mood etc.

Like pulling teeth out of Sprint. Transferred from Colorodo, North Carolina, Nicaragua, then Florida. Frickin Sprint customer for over ten years and upgraded into two EVO's and a Samsung Moment. Finally got three $70 credits after going through the customary BULL SPIT cycle with Sprint.

So this is only good for people who are 6 months away from their contract expiring. Not for people who are trying to get thier 1 year upgrade?

I have my 1 year upgrade coming up and will be finding out about it before I use is. I am also wondering if anyone else was able to get this done.
