Of course the iPhone wins. We have crappy codecs.
The iPhone's video quality is obviously a lot better. It is REALLY nice. But not enough to make me want to switch to AT&T. It would take A LOT for me to switch to AT&T.
Plenty of settings, but none that will actually improve the poor framerate of the videoI can't make a judgement wothout seeing the settings used in taking the videos. Look at your EVO software video settings and you will see many choices for resolution, white balance, focus and more. Still, the only use for a cell phone camcorder is for spontaneous recording.

Evo has a back illuminated sensor too. From what I understand, the iphone has a back illuminated sensor which does much better in low light. However, from the initial scene, the EVO looks washed out so it's not really a fair comparison. Maybe stop it down a bit and then see. Would probably help out with the gain and or frame rate and make a much better image for comparison.
I didn't realize the EVO had a back illuminated sensor. Cool. What are the resolutions of the two cameras. I though they were the same?Evo has a back illuminated sensor too.
However, because the size of the sensor is similar but there are less individual pixels, the iPhone has a larger pixel pitch than the Evo resulting in potentially better low light capabilities.
Sorry, just realized what you where saying. 8MP vs 5MP at the same size sensor yield smaller pixels.I didn't realize the EVO had a back illuminated sensor. Cool. What are the resolutions of the two cameras. I though they were the same?
I'm watching divx movies on my evo right now. Can you compare divx playback on the iphone please? Oh wait....
