720p HD over HDMI out

skpd

Android Enthusiast
I tried couple of movies, copied them to the EVO SD card but they do not show inside the video library, thus I cannot open them.

They were both file over 2GB. Format: one was .mkv and they other MPEG-TS

I would like to know what specs do the 720p files have to have for the EVO to recognize them and play them.

If I need to convert the files to say .mp4, what bitrate and fps do they have to be? is there a maximum value the EVO accepts?

thanks.

PS: anybody experiment with 5.1 surround also? can the EVO output DTS & Dolby Digital?

So far, I've only converted movies to be played on the phone (800 by x, since I'm keeping the default aspect ratio). I read somewhere that other Android phones had trouble with files over 2GB, but I haven't tried anything that big yet.

You need to put your files in MP4 format. Create a folder ion your SD card titled "Movies" and dump your vid files there.
