Help 8GB SD Card Problem :(

So... I've been able to access my pictures & everything from my SD card while plugged into the computer and while using the MicroSD adapter SD card.

Suddenly, I mount my phone to use as a disk drive. SD card doesn't show up. I take it out of the phone and put it into the adapter. Then I put it into the computer. Doesn't read it either. So, thinking it might be my computer, I took it over to my boyfriend's laptop and tried it. Doesn't read it.

what is causing this? and how can I fix it? It is the 8GB microsd card that came with my phone when I got it at AT&T on the day of release. but it's very frustrating because I have so many pictures and files on there now and I don't really feel like losing them. Yes I could email them and it looks like I'm going to have to, but still, I usually transfer the pictures onto my portable hard drive (to store pictures, music, etc incase my laptop decides to fail, which has happened to me). So that is basically what I was going to do.

Reads fine on my phone. No issues there. Just can't pull it on a computer

:( Help please!

the only things i can think of are that maybe something happened to the usb drivers for the phone as far as the computer not recognizing it as a disk drive (does htc sync work when the phone is connected to the pc?)

and for the sd card adapter have you tried another adapter? i have had adapters fail and i need to then use another one. It would be pretty odd that the adapter failed and the usb drivers got messed up at the same time. have you tried powering the phone off/on then reconnecting to the pc?

Actually, I put my 2GB microsd card that I had with my blackberry phones & HTC Aria and it came up immediately with the adapter. I can't even get my pictures to load now from the phone and the camera just sits at a black screen. won't even load. It only started happening today.

Everything works fine with the 2gb card though. I installed advanced task killer froyo last night and uninstalled the other advanced task killer. so I was thinking it had to do with that so I uninstalled the froyo version. turned the phone on and off a bunch of times. and it still won't read it. but the phone will charge from the computer.

you dont need a task killer really, with 2.2 and up task killers seem to do more harm than good. i havent used a task killer since my backflip.

not sure about maybe resetting the phone. remove the sd card and save your contacts to your sim card. everything else would be removed from the phone taking it back to out of the box settings. i hate resetting phones just cause its a pain to get it back to how you have everything set up.

if you got the phone from att and are under your 30days you could take it back if you think this might be a persistant problem, but they might try a reset in the store first i dont know.
