I just saw P3 Droid post on twitter about calling Verizon and ask for Loyalty Dept, and ask for the data package promotion and you will get $10.00 off per line for data.

can anyone verify this?
 
VZW has a promotion right now where you can get a $9.99 discount, on all lines, on your data plan. Just call Verizon and ask for the customer loyalty department, then tell them that you want the $9.99 data plan discount promotion. A 1400 minute or more plan may be required. Good luck.

lol...I just posted this same thing in the main part of the X forum, but I didn't hear it from P3 Droid.

I just called. It is a valid promotion, but in order to receive it,you need to be on plan of over 1400 minutes a month. which is not me:(
 
Just call customer service and ask for the loyalty department and once you get a rep, ask for the talk and data promotion. the only things you need to qualify are an unlimited data package with a plan of 1400 minutes.


saved 40 bucks a month :)
 
this actually belongs in the Verizon Forum, as it has nothing to do with just the DX :p

and im sure also along with the 1400 minute deal that you have to have at least a year left on your contract, where as most of us who bought the dx on launch day no longer have that :p
 
Just tried to do it and they turned me down. They said you have to have the talk and text plan to qualify. My wife and I use google voice to text so we don't have a texting plan at all. They said we could switch to the talk and text plan for $30 more and that would qualify for us to save $9.99. So it would cost me $20 more. That don't make no sense.
 
Gave it a try but they said I had to be on Unlimited text (besides my 1400/mo). Problem with calling VZW is I never know if I'm getting the right answer from the person I'm talking to.
 
Sure enough! It's the Talk, Text and Data plan promotion. $9.99 per data line discount per month. This also requires a 1 year contract extension but does not impact any equip upgrade dates. If you're due for equip upgrades next month then that will still be a valid date. Also if you're getting an employer discount both discounts cannot be in place on the same line. In my case my employer discount on the data portion was $5.99 so the Verizon discount of $9.99 is better. Hey saving $4 a month is better than nothing.
 
Just did it! So after all the hoops and shit they make you jump through, now I'm saving $10 a month. That's pretty cool, thanks for the heads-up!!!!!:cool:
 
They had a twenty dollar discount for life back in January. I took advantage of that. Saved me eighty dollars. Yup. Lifetime.
 
My dumb rep said this is only for new activations. And he would not even transfer me to loyalty dept.
 
My loyalty rep said that this has been going on since November 2010...FWIW...maybe only in select areas...I have unlimited mobile to any mobile and they couldn't do both promotions...
 
just called in and got the promotion :) saves me $30 per month, sweet! it is valid for 12 months.....guess I will have to call in for an extension when it expires.
 
do you know if offers like these can be applied to accounts to with a corporate discount? i will be joining verizon sometime this summer and don't know if they would still apply the 22% discount to everything else and this discount to the data portion of my plan.

it would make the difference between choosing the talk and text plan or just using google voice with the talk plan.
