Apps A competitor keeps rating 1-star for my app

They have more users and reviews than my app. I think they felt pressure seeing my app becomes popular gradually. It's a pity that they did that, but I have no good idea to deal with that.
Thanks to their 1-stars ,now my rating in play store drops from 4.8 to 4.6 ....

Could experts here advice a way to tackle it?

Thank you very much for your answers!

I'm not sure there's much more you can do use the current options/tools available to you:

- up-vote / down-vote the reviews
- mark the review as spam
- make a reply to the review

I think all apps/developers run into this at one time or the other...I almost wish that a 1-star rating would require a comment that readers could see and decide for themselves if the 1-star rating was merited.

Hopefully, your users will realize that many / most of the low ratings are either sour grapes or comments by users that aren't using the app correctly or don't understand what the app does/is meant for (something that plagues me :p).

Cheers!

@scary alien thanks for your helpful answer! Although it might not remove the spam ratings, it did relax me to some extent.
The good way is, as you implied, focusing on improving our own product and finally users will feel it.

No worries, @hellochinese :).

I actually had a quite "interesting" interaction with a user today that left me scratching my head with their reaction to my offering to help...can't help those that don't want help ;) :).

Cheers and best of luck! :)
