Root A Couple Questions

Hello, I decided to root this morning because I'm sick of worrying about internal memory space. I want a lot of apps and wanted to delete bloatware/improve speed on the phone.

1. I followed the SuperOneClick rout. I got stuck at the "open a command and copy and paste" step and actually never completed that step, yet my SuperOneClick and my phone both tell me I'm rooted successfully. I've been using Titanium and Supermanager and other root apps. I've moved a ton of apps to my SD card. So it looks like I'm rooted ok. Should I be concerned that I never had to enter any commands?

2. Since I rooted, the only issue I've had is if I reboot my phone, my live wallpaper doesn't save. Also, it takes quite a while for my Go Launcher EX to load, and the widgets disappear, forcing me to redo all my widgets on each screen. Could this possibly be connected to question #1? Did I possibly move something to the SD card that I shouldn't have? Otherwise, my phone is much faster since I've downloaded the Overclock app.

3. Speaking of the Overclock widget, could anyone help me with the appropriate settings for this phone? I've noticed that it already runs faster, but I'm still a little confused on how it works.

4. Is it really worth downloading a new ROM? I think I'm content and a lot of me wonders that if I even had trouble rooting, should I not shoot myself in the foot by trying something else out of my comfort zone?

Thanks in advance! And if I did something stupid, please be nice. LOL!

1. Can't help with this one as I used Romtools to root my phone. However if root apps are working, it looks like you are ok.

2. Any widgets and live wall papers need to stay on the phone or you will lose them every time you reboot.

3&4. If you have not yet installed a custom rom, you can't overclock. The stock rom that comes with our phones does allow overclocking. I recommend you check out the various roms out there, we have quite a few to choose from. For a 2.2 Froyo rom, check out Rodimus, Harmonia, and Bumblebee, to name a few. If you want a Gingerbread rom I would say AOSP is your best bet. Although some people have reported issues with the bluetooth, others say it works fine. This is what I have been running on phone for the last month.
Hope this helps and welcome to the wonderful world of modding your phone

thanks! i've thought about the whole ROM thing. i'll have to read up more. i'm really concerned about bricking the phone. if i was as stressed as i was about rooting the phone, i should probably wait....unless there's a real good dummy proof instructions.
