Is there any possible way to use these phones without activating them?

At the activation screen, tap the upper left corner, then upper right, then lower right, then lower left. You should immediately be brought to the home screen. I don't recall if the next reboot brings you to the activation screen or not.

Wow, I never knew you could do that. Will be nice steps to use if I ever get another Android phone and just want to use my Ally for around the house on my wifi network so the kids can mess with it.
