Help A few grumbles about my experience so far

Hi, new user here.

Had my Galaxy Nexus for about 4 days. Plenty of nice things to say about it, but I would be preaching to the choir. Instead, I'll share some things that have annoyed/worried me.

Firstly, If I Power off my phone, then try to power on again, it won't turn on. I have to open the back cover, pull out the battery, put it back in again and then it will power on. This is unacceptable to me, and I would be interested to hear if anyone else has this problem.

My album cover art is not updating in the stock Google Music app. I try and try and cant get it to work. I have found a bunch of work arounds involving tags that frankly seem like far more work than should be necessary. This is actually pissing me off a lot. It should be a breeze. Album Art Grabber apps don't solve this.

My keyboard layout early on had the @ symbol where the voice icon now is. I have no idea how that was changed, either by me or not. This is no biggie, but I would rather know how to get things back to the way they were. Does the keyboard layout change depending on what kind of field you are entering text into? Or does it dynamically change depending on what you use the most?

Speaking of text. When I am entering text into a field, it sometimes disappears and I am typing blind. I notice this the most in AndIRC app. Maybe its just that app but I doubt it. I'm still monitoring if it happens elsewhere. Very frustrating though.

Just wanted to vent a bit, but am looking forward to learning more about my droid along with you all. It's a very exciting phone and I am loving the integration. :)

The keyboard change may be because of the update from 4.0.1 to 4.0.2. I do not know.

Don't worry about venting. Some people may say you are a troll and to wait it out. I disagree. I did not have the issues I am experience with the OG Droid on release day. Being able to hear the phone ring or feel it vibrate are critical (may only be my phone) and the signal strength issues.

I just read in another thread that someone has the power on issue. I think it was the Bricked thread. That was my main gripe, and its significant.

It's important for us to chime in and communicate our bad experiences so that others who experience them know they are not alone.

The phone is fantastic and is already changing the way I operate from day to day. I just hope we can work through these annoyances and get the OS in top shape.

By the way, my OS version still says 4.0.1
 
Brick in that other thread is being used incorrectly. Bricking refers to an absolutely unrecoverable situation. Battery pop fixed that issue. I would consider that a hard freeze.
 
Right, it certainly wasn't bricked, but that was the name of the thread. It's happened to me twice in the 4 days since I got the phone. Which is a bit worrying if you ask me.
 
I am not having that battery pull issue. I definitely suggest going to a Verizon store and showing them. You might be able to get a replacement.
 
I have a HTC Amaze and got Google music in an update so I signed in and my albums mostly have the same cover from one cover.I think its on Google's end.
