Root A few issuses, roms or just android?

Been having a few problems recently im running velocity 1.1 and just wanted to put these out there.
Sometimes fail to recieve a text until reboot
Sometimes fail to recieve a call
Sometimes unable to hang up while in a call, must reboot to end call.
Sometimes unable to come out of airplane mode
(Not related to the above problems, these occur with a connection present) sometimes lose 3g connection at random.

I receives these bugs during V1.0, but I haven't had 1.1 long enough to know if these still exist. There were multiple times where I had to reboot my Ally just to receive SMS and MMS messages. There were also a few occasions where I was on the phone and had requested to end a call and it never did. My screen was unresponsive and wouldn't end the call -- even my End button wouldn't work. Nothing worked/happened, so I had to pull my battery and reboot.

I don't know about anyone else, but I have moments when I'm using the touch screen and texting, and I'll end up getting repeated letters. This would could happen when I'm typing "going" and I'll get "ggoing," or when I type "because" and I'll get "becabecause." It's not any word in particular, but *I just seem to get this a lot when I am using the touch screen to text.*
