A few mixed questiones about DHD!

Hey all,

Still getting to know my DHD, but i have a few questions!

1) Is some sort of anti virus program needed (i saw some on appbrain). If they are, any recommendations?

2) I would like my wallpapers to be the pictures from on album. But the only albums availaible are "all photos" or all "pictures". How would i go about creating my own album?

There is a paid version, that gives extra options, but the free version should be enough!

2) You should be able to create a folder on the SD card (by plugging your DHD in to your computer and setting it as USB mass storage) and then put the pics in there, however I am not 100% sure that this is how you would want to do it for setting up for pics as wallpaper.

You can also install an app such as Astro, which will let you manage your files from the phone, so you don't need to plug the phone in to create the folder.

Oh yeah... hadn't thought of that! Does that work on non-rooted phones too?!?

Yup, no root required. I'm surprised they don't bundle a file manager with all stock firmware to be honest.

I already have astro, and tried to fool around with it, but i couldn't figure out how to create new folders that the galleri would recognize as an album!

Well, I don't actually run the original firmware on my phone, so I don't have the app to test it on, but it should work that every individual folder on the phone with an image in is added to the gallery app.

If you go to your sdcard and create a new folder there (not inside any other folders, just on its own), name it Wallpapers and stick your photos in there, that should be enough. You will then want to trigger the phone to rescan the sdcard for media. There are more elegant ways of going this once you get things set up, but I think a reboot should definitely do it.
