Help A Few More Questions

Already browsed through two pages of threads, and did a search. Did not come up with anything. Here goes.


First, does the pinch feature not work on these phones, or is that just a 2.2 thing? (actually just thought of this so i could prog google but I am already t typing to what the hell).

Next, I downloaded Launcher Pro. Love it all EXCEPT, the default launcher let you drag and drop your home screens wherever you want them and in what order.

I want 5 home screens. This way i can scroll up down left or right and have a new screen. I tried messing with the settings, and all I am getting is 5 screens in a row. No good.

Anyone know how to configure this? Much appreciated if you would share your knowledge!

Hey Varthan!

Click on Menu...Preferences....Number of Screens....check 5. Then check 'enable virtual looping'.

LP scrolls from the left to right or right to left with looping enabled.

You can't scrool up and down with LP. the only time you can do that is when you click on your app drawer in your home screen dock. then all your apps come up and you can scroll up and down.

I have seen some apps say that pinch works but so far I can't get it to work on mine.

LP has a slight learning curve. I think once you get used to it you will love it but you have to experiment. It's hard to tell someone exactly what to do because it all depends on what you want on your home screens.

I love LP because it is very widget friendly and I love widgets. LOL

But my first Home screen I have my weather widget from Fancy Widget at the market and another widget that shows the moon phases. I posted some screen shots of my desktop on another thread today if you want to take a look.

Each home screen has a different use for me. I used to have shortcuts to all my favorite apps on two of them and finally I realized they didn't all have to be there. LOL

Now I only have about 5. Cause they are the ones I use the most.

This is how I would suggest you proceed:

1. start with the 5 screens you say you want

2. choose a wallpaper - don't get a live one at first - just get the LP wallpaper for now

3. On the first screen, you will see your dock. Go to appearance setting and then dock background. I chose the glass because I didn't want it to show up.

Then long press anywhere on the screen and when you get a popup you can choose widgets, LP widgets or shortcuts. You can experiment with what you want. to move them around you long press on the icon and move it where you want it. If you want to dump it just long press on it and move it to the wastecan at the bottom.

Do this with each screen until you get them like you want them.

After you get it how you like it....then try something new.
