Help A Few Questions

1. Installed an application that has a battery temperature indicator. What temperature becomes too hot in Fahrenheit, any warning indicator? I read somewhere that at 120 it will overheat and may not work and charge.

2. For Virgin Mobile if you had the $35 plan with only 300 minutes, couldn't you just use google voice after 300 minutes and use the internet since it is unlimited for making phone calls? I can't be the only person who thought of this way around the 300 minute limit.

3. My phone never freezes or reboots so how often should I restart it? Would this clear the cache or how do I clear the cache? I assume that helps improve the speed. Any other suggestions on weekly maintenance are welcome.

Thanks in advance

Well austin 1) about your phone overheating im not sure about the temp but 120 degrees is not good try to keep it low as possible 2) yes that is possible because wifi is free so even if you dont have service you can still use skype google talk etc. 3)its good to clear caches a.good tool to use is history eraser itll clean up your phone as for rooted people i suggest sd.maid as for performance and maintenance id say keep as few apps as possible keep the ones you use regularly i have few apps and 3 games and i go through every.week to see if i still use those apps space is valuable another thing is always check your sd card when you install apps they can create.folders.and use space on it so if you download then delete delete the files from your sd

EDIT: and about the overheat if it gets TO hot it wont charge and.overheating is bad for the battery so try to keep it cool

I have noticed on hot days my battery temp getting above 100 with moderate use but I also switch between 2 cases a hard plastic and a TPU case...When it gets hot I take the cases off and the temp goes right down....

Yeah i do the same thing i have a 2 piece case so i just remove it to ket it cool it heats up because im usually overclocking to 1.5GHz regularly

Yeah I've never really felt my battery get too hot I just wanted to know what is considered too hot. Currently my battery is at 82.4 F but I remember one time I used 3G and it got really warm on one particular day so i shut it off. I read about a guy who was driving across country and had his Android phone docked in the window for GPS and said it got over 120 F and wouldn't take a charge and I figured that would be typical with the hot weather here down south and being exposed to the sun in the window. I think I will just try to keep it under 100 if it ever gets close to that. Thanks.

I did some research and if you pull up a internet browser window-menu button-more button-settings-clear cache. Thats one way to clear the cache. As for applications you can hit menu button-settings-applications-manage applications-all-then go thru any application and clear cache on any you want. Or like you said download an application cache cleaner.

Yeah 120

I always keep my phone out of the sun.
As to cleaning the phone's cache I use an app called 1 click Cache cleaner..it's free and in the market. If you wish to pay a couple of $$ you can get the paid version which allows you to set a time for daily cache clearing. Works quite well.

Thanks again for the good feedback. I went ahead and downloaded the History Eraser because it was rated slightly better then the 1 Click Cache Cleaner. I also connected up my phone to my PC and went over my SD Card. Found a couple of caches there and a Voxer folder which I no longer need since deleting the application. Also a folder that contained photos I deleted. Don't want to incriminate myself with the new girlfriend lol.

Gracias
