A free and good software that could format my WHOLE device

Hello, i am currently searching for a FREE of charge or open source software for windows operating system to permenantely erase my android OS from my romchip.
I dont want any files at all on my mobile phone.
For example, master resetting the phone may reset the data like multimedia and apps, contacts, notes off my phone but IT will NOT delete the operating system ROM OR IMAGE FILE.
i neeeed to remove that ROM file otherwise, i wont be able to transfer my 2nd rom.

I DO NOT WANT TO OVER WRITE IT.
my phone has a virus on it and i want to delete everythig off it INCLUDING THE ROM. REad only memory doesnt mean that the chip cant be erased becuase i CAN STILL APPLY UPDATES which means that it can still handle updates right?
so it can be written to it.
Please make me 1 fro free. Thanks.

It would help if you told us the name of your device.

Flashing a new firmware (ROM) to the device will replace the existing one and thus irradicate any 'nasties'. How you go about this depends on the brand of device though, as it requires specific software e.g. Odin (Samsung), Flashtool (Sony) etc.

yeah if youre rooted with custom recovery you can wipe everything but thats pointless and dangerous unless you have something there to replace it before rebooting and as Slug says, flashing a new rom will replace the system anyway :thumbup:
