Root A good ol' fashioned Camera question

I'm running Dirty Unicorns 1.8 (but this has been an issue since day one with this phone and I just can't fix it.)

I want to take a picture (just a picture and nothing fancy) and as I'm about to take that pic... My viewscreen darkens quickly (harshly shades)... and thus, when I take the picture, the picture turns out dark.

My camera settings are all default.

Not sure if thus is the same issue with yours, but on mine I have a otter box defender case. With it on, my pictures are always darker. Not sure if its a issue with the case disrupting the light the camera received or not, but if I take it off I seem to get the more consistent brighter images. My wife doesn't have a case on hers and has never had the darken issue with photos.

Not sure if that helps, but that's my experience.

Could be cause by your case like Poweredge99 said or it could be the Rom itself maybe Flash timing is off by a split second?

Mine depends on lighting. In one area its dark, i turn it 5 degrees and it brightens up, the light sensor is really sensitive on mine

Try playing with the ISO settings, default is auto so see if keeping at a lower (or higher) value helps rather than having the phone adjust.
