a little confusion about release date

i'm a little confused about the release date, guys...

so you can pre-order it on 10/27 (thursday) but when will it be available in stores? i thought i saw a post over on engadget that it would be available in stores on the 27th also but that doesn't seem quite right.

i'm pretty set on this phone but i need to play with it for a few mins in a store before i take the plunge.

can someone please clarify on the dates?
 
I've talked to a couple different reps and they have not been able to give a release date (no surprise there). 2 of them have said it may even be available then (October 27th) to ship next day. If I were to guess though it will probably ship the following week. So the 3rd looks the most realistic to me.

Like Friday you mean? If so I don't doubt it. They said its only showing up in their computers as a pre order but that doesn't mean it wont be available for next day. 2 of them said it btw.

Getting in my pre order is all I care about. If it releases quickly its a bonus. If not a week later is not a bad deal.
 
As much as i'm not a huge fan of Apple, they do a great job of letting the consumers know the price, pre-order date and release date of their products. Clear info of the price and release date have been a mess for the launching of the RAZR and the Nexus.
 
My lame prediction is this Friday and weekend should see a watershed of Razr actviity. Maybe even some devices in the media's hands for testing.
 
After pre ordering your Razr what date did they say it would be shipped?
Mine if different from my bother in law.

Just wanted to see if anybody else got a date.
And the date you got according to verizon rep that may change, might be earlier? Any truth to this?

Never pre ordered anything before and this is wacko. lol

But just would like to know what date others got.

Mine says ships by Nov 10
 
Have you been able to complete the pre order is it telling you it timed out? Also, I would prefer to have it shipped to my work address, but it wants "Shipping Contact Number" so I've tried to put in phone numbers but it isn't accepting that. Please help as this is the first time I've tried to pre order as well.

the pre order process went pretty smooth for me. i did notice that the site was a little slow trying to log into myverizon, but it bounced back pretty quickly. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to have it shipped to your work address, you would just need to change the shipping address from the billing address. just my thoughts. I'm not sure what is up with the phone number issue though.....
 
If you are trying to do it online and run into any problems, as was the case with me, simply call 800.256.4646 (Verizon telesales) and they will do the pre order over the phone.
 
The site is prob over loading with everybody trying to pre order and that is why it's timing out.
Mine says 10th also, but rep said it might ship before that date?
Has this happened before, gave you a date and it shipped before the date it says?

Wolvie depending on how many pre orders there are they are just giving you the latest date it will ship. So lets say they get slammed with pre orders and the ship date on some of them is November 3 well a batch will go out then and then some will go out the 4th and then another round the 7th.

Those are just made up dates of course but they are just essentially giving themselves some leeway in regards to shipping product out.

All pre orders will be fullfilled by the 10th
 
I'm not a future RAZR owner, but I posed as a prospect to get more information about the Galaxy Nexus. I posted this in the monster thread in the SGN forum, but I thought you RAZR folks might appreciate this:

Obviously they could be misinformed, so keep that in mind.
 
i pre-ordered mine over the phone because i had a couple of other questions about other stuff and the rep told me the same thing that everyone has already said, "will ship by 11/10" but then he said "they're just trying to be conservative and I'd guess it'll go out no later than the 5th". this is just some VZW sales rep shooting from the hip but the bottom line is really what CK said above: some people will get their phones earlier than the 10th, but all pre-orders will be fulfilled by the 10th.
