Root A need to wipe?

I am running Lithium with the Alternate Black Theme right now. I want to stick with Lithium but I want to try a different theme. Would it be easier to just download the theme and install over it or would it be okay to install a whole new ROM through ROM Manager?

Nandroid backup.

Install theme only.

Fail? Restore backup, install Rom, install Theme.

your are correct to install new rom .... go to rom manager > download rom > Lithium Mod > pick your theme and what ever else you want changed > no need to wipe but, it nevers hurts to backup

I have done this 4 times without backing up or data wipe to just change the theme (I have lots of backups)
