Root A Newbie's Best Friend: Rooting and Flashing Step by Step Guide

Morning all! I rooted my phone last night and removed a few bloatware. I got up this morning, now I have no sound or mic. The phone, the mp3 player, screen sounds:eek:, nothing. Any ideas?

Did those things work last night after you removed some bloatware? Which apps did you remove?

I don't know. I'm an idiot, I was tired...lol. As soon as it was rooted, I downloaded TB and uninstalled what I thought was bloatware according to the list. Never checked for sounds and the such. Turned the phone off, went to bed....Lol.

Stated you downloaded TB(+1) Did you use TB to uninstall...

Yes, I used TB to uninstall

To save hours off of both of our lives;) Here is how I do it when switching between ROMS

Make another backup with TB-user app +system data
Boot into recovery and create a backup in recovery:
http://androidforums.com/esteem-all...-friend-rooting-flashing-step-step-guide.html

Re-flash the ROM you did before you lost sound..check to see if sound works -if it does proceed..if not holla back

restore in TB -user apps and system data

Most of the ROMS are debloated-up to each person to decide what apps to keep and what not to keep..I have always uninstalled apps I don't want using root explorer(my preference)

OK, got everything wiped. Phone back to square 1 but working! I still have the Super User Icon. That mean I'm still rooted?

When this was made there was only 2 sw versions and one was unrootable and the root was stickied at the top and in the All things root guide. And its pretty clear on how to do it...read the first paragraph :D

My computer is stuck at *dameon started successfully*
I'm on ZVD

Try running the run.bat prior to plugging the phone in. Plug the phone in then internets Conn mode then hit enter..let us know mission complete:D

No this is just rooting and rom flashing not flashing to another carrier...

I never rooted a cell phone before. I have a LG Esteem with MetroPCS.
In your instructions, you first write "Download the CWR AIO from the All Things Root section".
The problem is that I went to the sticky of "All Things Root" and I don't see CWR AIO. I tried the link AIO Root/Recovery/Unroot ZVC & ZVD and downloaded LG-Esteem-Revo_AIO.zip
but I didn't see any cwm_windows_install.bat in it.
So what is the direct link for CWR AIO ?
