A noob's random question...

Hey! Brand spankin' new to Android forums, and I have a question... Why are some posts blank with a # way off to the right? I'll go to reply on a topic, and sometimes see a few of these blanks after the last person's post, or even in various parts of the thread. Help please?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post my ??... Did I mention I'm new in town? ;)

Anyhoo, are you seeing these on your device or on a computer?
Tapatalk or windows? What browser are you using?
Sorry for the questions, but it help narrowing it down:)
Can you possibly post a screenshot of the issue?

Ok enough small talk, mister, I got issues here--important ones! (Kinda. Not really.)
Apparently its Tapatalk, I downloaded the Android Forums app from the Play Store. I'm using UC browser, but again, I'm navigating around thru the app.
I JUST figured out how to do a screenshot (I'm always late to the party), so lemme go do that for ya...brb.

Tapatalk or the Android Forums app? Sorry, you mentioned both and from your screenshot, I'm not sure which one it is. :(
If it's tapatalk, what version are you on? (I think the latest is 4.9.5.) The Android forums app is old and the Phandroid app is not supported per this thread.
 
Well, I'm using the Android Forums app from Google Play. I mentioned Tapatalk because next to my avatar on my profile page, in tiny writing, it says (Tapatalk), as if that's where I'm posting from. Its weird. Do you suggest I ditch the app? Can I log on here from my UC browser?

My apologies for my epic cluelessness. I'm really still figuring all of this stuff out. Clearly. Lol. Tysm for your patience. :)

Ah, well I can't speak for the AF app, but I'm sure you can log into the forums with your UC browser with no issues.
I use tapatalk, and it does have some glitches, but more and more I'm using the browser when I'm on my device. (Chrome for me).
And no worries, back in the middle/late November, Android Forums switched "formats" so to speak, so there will be some issues that are getting worked on ;)
If you have some time, you can read thru the bug thread and post what you see needs attention:)
 
Good question, my friend. I have no clue what Tapatalk even is!! Like I said, I just use the Android Forums app from Google Play. The only place I see "Tapatalk" is under my avatar, where I showed you. Any ideas? Lol
 
Okay, just a few things here. First, Lunah, we're not related, right? I don't want anyone (Dan) to think there's any nepotism in the forums (that we admit to). Second, you are indeed on that Android Forums App and not Tapatalk, even though technically the AF app is a customized version of Tapatalk.

With the AF app, you will see those blank posts. I have no idea why, but the new forum structure has so many things we haven't mastered yet. Welcome to Kindergarten. :D (Ooooh, is it nap time yet?) With Tapatalk versions 4.9.5 or 4.10.0 you might or might not see an option to browse the forum lists. Doesn't matter either way it's not going to work. o_O We're working on it though. There's a whole thread dedicated to AF and Tapatalk. So you can have the balnk posts or the no-browse "feature", your choice. :D

Finally, don't tell Mike he rocks. He's hard enough to deal with already without an ego the size of Minnesota. ;)

Yeah, I checked out Tapatalk after Mike gave me the link, but omg, the reviews on Play Store are horrendous! I don't wanna even bother since this AF seems to be rolling along quite nicely...except for random blank boxes... which you explained well enough for my liking. I fully accept an "um, we don't know" as an official answer!! (Blame my short attention span...)
Speaking of kindergarten, I'm bringing the snacks if you PROMISE to stop peeing on the mats at nap time Geez... (Oops, can I say pee? Twice?) :oops:
I will never again tell Mike he rocks... Unless he deserves it. I'm just generous like that. Hehe
