Root A partition table question, before I flash my ROM

I'm planning to flash to my first custom ROM this weekend. Am currently on HTC's GB update. I'm going to CM7.

If I want to flash to the AlphaRev HBOOT for CM7, am I right in thinking that I do this after flashing the CM ROM?

I.e. I'm thinking that the order to do things would be:

1 Flash the CM7 ROM
2 Take nandroid backup
3 Flash the new HBOOT table
4 Restore nandroid

Is that about right?

You can do it at any time but as your current Rom Wont fit, after it has to be
