A Personal Question, Droidbots

I haven't rooted either because I'm waiting on 2.1, but that Transformers boot animation is so enticing...

I'm 21, on my last semester of undergraduate studies in electrical engineering.

I'm always messing around with my devices (hacking OS X onto my HP Mini 311, jailbreaking my iTouch, etc) so of course my Droid is rooted and running 2.1

I can afford a Droid because...wait I can't, my parents pay for my plan. LOL.

You don't need to root to replace your boot animation!

30, HS teacher/site computer tech, on Christmas break and procrastinating on the work I brought home that I really really need to do. :-p

I don't browse the forums at work because there's just not the time, but when I'm home, I pop in and lurk. I lurked/posted more when I first got my phone, but I've backed off some, I guess. Back to spending more time on TotalFark.com. :D

I'm a bit out of the norm also. I am 54, a retired Police Officer with 25 years. I also owned a video production company filming 30 second commercials and training films. I also produced a local tv program for a year. Now I am semi-retired in Chelan Wa St. but I still do custom audio/video installations and home automation systems to all the rich people who have summer homes here.

Ah, I remember running OS X on my HP laptop. Were you able to get sound to work properly? That was a b*tch.

44 year old, Cisco dude, Network admin, Windows guru, Guitar-slingin', motorcyle-ridin', DROID-rootin', husband of 24 years, father of two.

33 year old male.. Sales Manager for a top 50 furniture store.. a friend of mine works for Proctor and Gamble in the Future Homes division and he has me hooked on gadgets.. He is a iphone user and he is envious of my Droid.. Love it!

I am 37 year old woman (I almost don't count because my husband is the one with the Droid, but I weasel in here because I made him buy it!)

I do GIS/3d graphics work for a law enforcement agency. I am fascinated with the idea of using Google Earth in Android. This Feb, I'll be picking up one of them. (I could easily spend 2 years with any of Verizon's Android phones.)

Guess I am one of the oldest here. 55 yo currency trader and trainer so am on computer at all hours and check threads for an entertaining change of pace. Am getting htc eris next week and looking forward to all your tips. Happy New Year to all.

44 year old T-shirt printer, Sticker maker... Sign Guy, What ever pays the bills ... :D

Oldest son is majoring in Computer Engineering at SDSU, he is the one who got me into all the linux open source stuff out there that lead to me getting an android phone.

When I am not printing shirts or cutting stickers, I am on the computer doing graphics and ordering supplies. I usually have a tab open and keep an eye on the forum.

Wish everyone a happy new years... :)

24, sexy male software developer.

(Not rooted)
Whaaaat? You're a dude? Never knew that. (No pun intended)

I'm a male, 26 years old, finishing my junior year in high school.. I participate in the cheer program here at UWO (strong pride in it) and that's about it. I seem to be on here often because I ALWAYS have a connection to the internet. Whether it be a phone, a computer in my classes, or at home, it's ALWAYS there. So, yeah...

I am constantly amazed at how many posts are made and how quickly they are responded to. So, a little personal question. . .

Who are you?

I assume that most of us here are adults who work a job that allows them to buy an expensive phone (or two or three) with expensive data plans, so are you all at work slacking off and following the threads?

I must admit I am guilty of that occasionally as I linger around here.

Well of course :p I'm an IT person who's job is of the nature of a repairman (sometimes it's chaos and sometimes it's very slow). This time of year tends to be pretty quiet any way so here I am. :D
