Hello All:
This is my firs post here, I am a new owner of the original Galaxy Tab.
My problem is about the using of Gmail in general, first I have tried using the built in app, it lacks the ability to sync the groups created in
gmail on the PC, it throws all the contacts into one group, then I tried the (Messaging) app, sat up my gmail account, did the syncing part and
to my surprise I found all the contacts group lying there, I thought this was the solution but unfortunately you cannot send to all the group
members at once like you do in the PC version, you have to open the group and click on each email address inside the group to add it to the (send
To) field!! and there's no (select all) check box or something, apparently this is a waste of time and very frustrating.
I decided then to switch to the browser's based version of Gmail, and here's the results for each browser:
1) The built n browser doesn't seem able to load Gmail in the desktop version, always loads the mobile version, and when switching to the desktop
version it displays the (Basic HTML) version, and of course this basic version cannot deal with the groups and you cannot send an email to a
specific group while in the basic HTML version.
2)Firefox the same results as the standard browser even after upgrading to the latest 6 edition.
3) Dolphin HD, Miren and Boat browser all are capable of loading the standard version of Gmail(the same you get when using Chrome/IE...etc) but
again to my ultimate frustration I couldn't write anything in any field(TO,CC,BCC...etc) when I tap into these fields the Samsung keyboard
doesn't pop up as usual and I cannot even write the email address manual! I noticed that I cannot even write anything in the Gmail's search
box!!.
This is very maddening and frustrating because one of the basic reasons to buy the Galaxy Tab was to find a solution to be always Gmail's
connected on the go, and not having to wait till either I am at office or at home to send my emails, and since a big portion of my daily Gmail's
operation is sending emails to specific group( abut 125 addresses) this really put me off completely, so my question is there a solution to my
problem by either using the (Standard View) of Gmail on one of the Android browsers or making the Gmail app syncs the Gmail groups or even
allowing me to (Select All) in the messaging app?
Best regards
