Hmmmm......it would seem to me that if OP was trying for a Mod position, he would be MUCH better behaved most of the time.:p

what ever his intentions were or were not thats his business. i was just offering my own observations gained through years of working behind the scenes on other tech based forums. call me sceptical if you must but i always find posts such as the OP's to have a ulterior motive.
 
EarlyMon, I will always have your back on this forum, however sometimes I cannot just sit idly by while misinformation is corrupting the newbies to the forums and the platform. And sometimes things are just so mind bogglingly moronic that ignoring it would be like ignoring that really really suspicious looking mole on my back (There is no mole so no worries). I do however pledge to be silly whenever possible, helpful when someone needs it, and will bite my tongue on occasion.

On one hand, you want to warn the innocent, on the other, you don't want to dignify the ideas with a remark.

i initially jumped into this thread thinking you were a bit of a prat if nothing else, well after reading a few dozen of your threads and posts i have to admit i like your sense of humour even if i do still think your a nats pube away from being declared " completely flaming balmy "
 
You'd have thought this was macrumors with the amount of flak the OP is getting. It's a sad reflection of society when being nice is associated with ulterior motives.


I agree 100% with the OP and think that anyone who volunteers their free time to make sure an online community stays within it's boundaries is a good guy in my book.

Yeah.

I was just waiting for this one to get resurrected and bite me, knowing I'd have nothing to say. However - that's never stopped me before, so here goes nothing.

First - I'm already a great mod. This thread is still here. :lma0: (kidding!!!)

Second - I was subjected to electroshock therapy and given the choice of remaining as I was or taking the job. (That was all done by my wife after reading some of my posts, but still, that should count for something.)

Third - I read the site statistics. Over 200,000 members and lots of general disarray as AF grows with each new phone and each new release - and only a few mods.

Bottom line - after spouting off less and reading more, I changed my mind about wanting to help out here.

Listen, the main reason EarlyMon took this post is because he gets to see his name in fire engine red, and who can blame him. It looks purty.
No hidden agenda here...just red.:p
 
I think EarlyMon did a great job with this thread: he did not lock, delete or even edit his original post. Kudos.

He did not ignore the thread either, that wouldn't have been better.
 
I go away for a couple weeks and Early is a Moderator?! I am both shocked and dismayed..... I am shmayed! Or Shoayed or Disocked?!! Oy vey there goes the neighborhood.
