These are the same people that claim rooting ruins your phone and that it's a good idea to have an auto task-killer set up. Why would you want to go?

I agree that they're a bit naive when it comes to some aspects of Android, but it wouldn't hurt to go. Besides, I enjoy meeting other people who like mobile technology as much as I do.

But that's the thing, you'll probably just meet a lot of very zealous old people who want to learn how to work their new doo-hickey. And they'll believe what Verizon tells them. ;)

I went to one of those back in the spring, though it wasn't an "invite via text". They're not very informative (I'd bought my Droid a few months before they started running those workshops), but you may learn a thing or two. They plugged task killers, battery pulls, how to install and remove apps via the market, what widgets are, voice commands, latitude, and the like. If I'd attended one back in Nov/Dec '09, it would've been helpful. Four months later (in my case), not so much.

Ryan has a point - even the experts may lean a thing or two, even if it *is* just what the BS they are spouting off so you can better counter the BS with true facts.
