Root A Text Message Made My Phone Go Crazy

I'm currently running Broken Out, but this hasn't been a problem for me before. I turned my phone on and everything was working until a text message that I recieved made my phone rebot itself over and over. Everytime it would reboot, it would work for about five seconds until it vibrated to notify me that I had a text and then it would reboot again. The battery wasnt hot, and I put it in the freezer and the problem kept occuring. No matter how many times I pulled the battery out, it would continue to reboot.

I finally fixed it by quickly (in the five seconds after it reboots, before the phone vibrates) unlocking my phone, openning up the messaging app and deleting all messages.

Any ideas why this happened and how I can prevent it from happening again?

Um, cleaning the phones cache, uninstall any new APPS and run a virus scan.... can't think of anything else unless it's a rom issue, in which case this should happen to more people.

They deliver OTA through text messaging instructions to your phone, but I think broken out removed the program the texts tried to open. Is it possible you were one of the first to have been sent the next update and something else you flashed over put it back on?

Have you flashed anything else after broken out? The ROM number 2 (Which flashes over broken out), maybe, or anything else?

Or someone that knows you have the phone you do wrote instructions for a funny ass bootlooper - in which case...I want to meet your friends, their pranks are ****ing epic :P

Nah, more than likely it's a push or test that metro's sending you, and broken is literally rejecting it.
It may also be any number of issues with third party msg'ing apps, because let's face it...they're global solutions, and they leave things out sometimes.
