Help A20 has a new text message counter on dock. A51 does not. Why?

On the A20,in the dock, the number of new messages appeared with the message icon. Now when I get a new message on this A51 5G, the dock icon does not change.

It would be better/nice/great to have a new message count visible on the dock icon. Can this be done?

Wow! Two Metro stores and a call to Tech Support could not help. One Samsung store turned on floating bubbles which were annoying. I did a search for "icon badges" using the double down swipe and found the switch.

ocnbrze found the cure, whereas four other businesses could not. Thank you so much. The A51 now shows the badges like the A20. Soooooooo useful.
