Root A2SD+ partition not working

Help please! I have got a new sd card for my htc desire. I currently have rooted phone using stock ROM but want to use A2SD+. Hence I parted my sd as follows:

1. I used VMplayer + Gparted to part
2. I have put 1.8 gb space
3. I have parted to EXT 3
4. First partition is FAT followed by EXT3 nothing else.

I have checked this with both Gparted and EASEUS. Both shows that I have partition. But when I put my card in my phone and use Quick System Info, I see A2SD storage as 42.56mb with 20.66mb free??? I am still using stock Rom so not sure how this is possible?

When I check using freespace A2SD ext is not shown at all.

Not sure how to solve this or to find out whether this is a problem or not??? Confused!!!

Hey SU - Thank you for the quick response. Are you saying these apps will not see the partition unless I am using a rom supporting a2sd?

Indeed. Have a look at my root memory faq for information on how it works.

Using Teppic74's Rooted Stock Gingerbread, if you want a stock feel - is usually what we recommend. You can find that via the xda thread full of roms...

Thanks for the suggestion SU. I dont want to use Teppic's ROM as it has to be used with his Radio. I dont want to mess around with radios.
