Help A500 doesn't detect Wifi signal

Hi,
I have a problem with the A500 Tablet. It literally does not detect my Wifi signal. And it's not a weak signal because both my Sasmung Galaxy Ace and my PC can pick it up just fine with 5 bars in the same room. I hear that it has weak reception for Wifi so I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem. I'm using 3.01 version Android OS. Is there anyway to fix the issue without updating to 3.1?

Do you have encryption set on the tablet to match access point? I have to ask.
Have you tried the wifi patch on the acer site. I havnt looked for it myself but I heard they have a patch for wifi.
