I got in just in time then. Fortunately, I missed the 8GB version, and have the 16TB
Congratulations! I have the 16GB model and have never regretted getting the extra space
But the battery life is abysmal in comparison with the Acer it replaces. Worse, no replaceable batteries.
Can you quantify abysmal?
I get a full day (07:30 - 22:00) with a bit of juice in reserve with what I consider reasonable usage - a few hours listening to podcasts, the odd call and message, checking quite a few e-mails, bit of interweb and perhaps an hour of gaming. Not fantastic, but IMO not abysmal - obviously, you may have a different opinion
I have all the radios on all the time (I used to turn them off but it didn't make a huge difference), screen brightness set to auto, location services and Google Now on but sync off. My e-mail is set to sync every 10 minutes. I don't have FB or Twitter which I know can be battery blackholes.
At work, I get pretty decent reception, but at home reception is absolutely awful.
If you're getting anything significantly worse than the above, it may indicate either another rogue app (battery stats may help identify it) or perhaps a dodgy battery - assuming you got the phone within the last 14 days, now might be a good time to seek a replacement
Alternatively, you could always get one of those re-charge battery packs .. or keep a charger / USB cable handy
