Help AAC Files: Not reading tags

I have over 1500 aac files and all of them are showing as unknown artist. My artwork isn't showing up either. All my mp3's are showing up fine. Is the only option to convert the lot of mp3?

Not exactly an ideal solution is it having to transcode all my files

apologies i misread your post, i thought you said is there any option to convert.
I'd try some different music apps?
if you can play aac files then the phone is compatible with the format, you just need a better app to read the tags.
