Root AAHK used, Installed Jellytime but now phone does not boot

Hi all,

Decided to upgrade to Jellytime. Rooted my phone using AAHK which downgraded my firmware to the original and set clockworkmod 5.0.2.7 as my recovery. From there I upgraded to cm-JellyTime_R26.2.zip without previously wiping any data. JellyTime said installed successfully and required me to reboot. Jellytime now does not boot and just stalls on the initial splash screen of JellyTime and does nothing more.

Tried booting into recovery but now everytime I attempt to select anything in there the phone reboots. Seems like even clockworkmod has gone funny.

Any ideas please?

Hi EarlyMon,

Have tried wiping cache but phone reboots to Jellytime again and still gets stuck. I am not sure if am doing it correctly though. Before installing JellyTime clockworkmod would allow me to select a menu item by pressing the power button once and then take me to the submenu and then I would choose another and press the power key again, this time around every time i press the power button the phone reboots. I have now also noticed that if I press the power button and keep it held down I can browse the sub menu whilst the power button is still held, however once i release the power the phone reboots again.

Very frustrating :(

I have never encountered this issue before. One of our Guides has had trouble installing JellyTime too.

When you flashed JellyTime with Clockworkmod did you use the app or did you both into recovery. If you used the app, I would recommend trying again by booting into recovery. Do a full wipe (factory reser/wipe cache/wipe Dalvik).

By any chance did you make a Nandroid backup before flashing JellyTime. If you did, I would recommend restoring your backup, replacing Clockworkmod with 4Ext Recovery and trying again.

I realize doing any of these may be pretty hard/impossible with how Clockworkmod is behaving right now.

Third option is return to stock with AAHK and rooting again.

This is a fairly serious problem. I would wait for confirmation from another person before proceeding.

A second opinion would be really good.

Hi All,

I have managed to work clockwormod. The first time I used it the power button was the select button. At some point this changed and the touch buttons took over. I did not notice this change. I managed to clear the cache and reset factory data. Jelly time booted fine and installed the apps.

Now the most notable things are these 3G does not seem to be working and also I cannot seem to synchronise my contacts with Google contacts.

Are there any known issues one might know about. Have not started searching these issues up yet.

Try going to r24 or r25?

I'm not sure if these problems are caused by r26 but I have heard of other problems with 26.2.

I am currently on r24 and experience no issues.

Glad to hear most everything is sorted. JellyTime. R26.2 has several issues, but I do not recall seeing the ones you have mentioned. If you did not do a full wipe on the initial flash, I think I would do a full wipe and flash again.

did you just downgrade your phone? there are two steps, first is downgrade, and second is root and s-off..

No he is just going to try to re-flash JellyTime. In the first post:

From there (rooted Froyo) I upgraded to cm-JellyTime_R26.2.zip without previously wiping any data.

Basically, a dirty flash of JellyTime over a Froyo Sense ROM.

I would try a battery pull for 60 seconds, then go into recovery and wipe cache and Dalvik cache.

Moved this to our root forum where I'm sure you'll find the best answers. Welcome to the forums! :)
Hi guys, I have the EXACT same problem on my DHD, but when I pull the battery out and put it back in it goes to the sub-menu and but it disappears so quickly and reboots and gts stuck on the Jellytime splash screen, I'm about to shed a tear....

Sorry. Just to double check. You are doing a battery pull and than turning on the phone by pressing volume down, and with volume kept down, pressing power.

Only if he made a Nandroid backup and only if he can get into HBoot. If not maybe we can flash a stock ROM, but scotty85 is a better person to give advice on that.

Same problem.

AAHK to downgrade and root.
Clockwork mod recovery setup through ROM manager.
Copied over the r28 jellytime zip and installed through ROM manager but it then got stuck on the jellytime splash. A battery pull, volume down+power button has no effect and it will again get stuck on the splash.

Best to download the zips your self and flash in recovery.

Okay, you could try flashing the ROM again. Before flashing the ROM again do a full wipe.

Factory reset
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik
