About 3G frequency

Hi, Im interested in buying a HTC Hero from a ebay seller...
On the phone page it shows:

Network HSPA/WCDMA:900/2100 MHz, Up to 2 Mbps up-link and 7.2 Mbps down-link speeds
Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz (Band frequency and data speed are operator dependent.)

My operator use the frequency 2100... that means that the phone will not work on 3G mode?

thx for any clarification

If your operator uses 2100MHz, then you should be able to use 3G data.

If you're in the USA however, you're limited to EDGE data as the Hero hasn't yet released the USA variant that works with either T-Mobile or AT&T.
The Sprint version of the Hero is due out in October that does the 3G, but it requires a 2-year contract and making that leap to CDMA...ugh!
