Help ? About going back to stock and restoring all settings/apps

Newbie
I am going to go back to stock 2.1 image w/o root so I can get the 2.2 OTA. Once I do that my phone is wiped correct? All apps, settings, mms, etc.

However I want to save all my apps, sms, home screen setup, settings etc. Is the best way to do this just to get MyBackupPro and run that once I have restored to the stock image?

Also should I do the image should I do a factory wipe?

I would say get Titanium backup. I have had both and prefer Titanium over mybackup...I do not understand your last question...But I would say make a nandroid backup before flashing the stock 2.1...

Well I don't think I am going to root again. Have a nandroid and titanium backup made. But wondering if I do a mybackup once I go back to stock and restore the my backup will all my settings apps mms etc show up. Just want to be sure if this thing backs up it all

Thanks.
