Help ? about simultaneous talk and data

So what's the deal with simultaneous voice and data on the Optimus M? Can we do this or not? If I'm using a bluetooth headset, can I be surfing the web, and talking on the phone at the same time. Now, if I can't while I'm just using the phone network, can I do simultaneous while using WiFi?

Thanks,
Al

yes, on wi-fi.

Current CDMA networks cannot do simul data and talk over the phone network. In the near future, yes, but the phone would have to have the new CDMA chips.

But with wi-fi connection, you can talk on CDMA phone network while browsing and receiving email, etc through wi-fi connection.

This is why the Easy Wi-Fi app is useful. Gives you automatic log on to free wi-fi network when you are out and about. Wi-fi increases the internet speed and also gives you simultaneous data + talk.

ChazzMatt, thank you very much for that information. I wasn't sure if I could talk and surf while on the CDMA (didn't know enough to actually choose the correct acronym, again thanks for that bit of info also). I was pretty sure I could while I was using wi-fi though, but it's good to have confirmation. I guess that brings up another question; if I'm using an app, like Skype, can I do voice and data at the same time, since Skype is essentially turning my voice into data bits? Oh, and can I use a blue tooth headset and use Skype?

Theoretically, yes.

However, I've not used Skype on this phone.

but to clarify this question, you mean Skype while just using the MetroPCS 1x internet connection?
