Help About Sprint and Pic Msgs.

Android Enthusiast
Hello!

I'm still new to Sprint.. I used to be a Verizon guy for 8 years.
And I'm used to send and receive pictures with the original resolution they were taken.

But I've notice that Everytime I get a Pic msg with my moment they're ridiculously resized.
Same thing happens if I send one they get a crappy sized pic.

Is there a way around it?
Is it sprint?
Or is it Android?

Thanks in advance!

:)

As far as I know the only way to send a full resolution picture is through G-mail.

I was looking at a post of someone having problems with chomp sms

It gave me an idea and I went to the handcent sms settings and increased the size of MMS to 500kb then sent a pic to my email add and looked at it on the sprint website and yes it is bigger and better.
Now I wonder if by having done that I also will be able to receive decent size pics... go figure

Unless something has changed recently, you can't send full-size (1+ MP or greater) pics with Verizon's (or any other carrier's) MMS either.

Most carriers restrict MMS size to something less than 1MB. This is why the Moment resizes pictures before you send them...so that the recipient can actually view what you send them. Sprint is actually one of the few that allow it differently, because they don't use real MMS (they use a picture mail service which is why you can view all the pics you send and receive online at pictures.sprintpcs.com), so Sprint's servers automatically resize things so you don't have to do it on your phone.

You do know that when you receive a picture, you can touch the picture and a larger version of it will load, right?

Yeah I know that by touching the pic it will pop up a bigger image but still crappy resolution.

About Verizon I used to be able to send 3.2 MP pictures intact to my e mail address o to my friends phones and we always got the original pic resolution.. Of course they didn't exceeded 1mb..

But as I said before adjusting the settings in handcent sms actually helped
even though that the pic is hosted in sprint's site when I download the pic from there it actually saves a pretty good resolution picture.

Thanks!:D
