About the speakers

I was wondering does loud music make the N4 speaker crack or break like you know in cars when you have your music too loud and your soundbox just cracks up and doesn't play good quality music anymore... Will this happened to my N4 ? Really don't want to ruin my speakers.

It's hard to say, it's always a risk I suppose.

If you're going to be using it to listen to music, I think you'd probably be better off buying a semi decent set of speakers anyway. The N4 speakers are relatively loud in phone terms, but you'd still get better quality out of a external speakers.

As El P says, it's hard to say however I've had my N4 for coming up to 3 months and I pretty much only ever use the speakers at full volume (coz it's really not that loud) and so far, no problems.

Having said that, I usually play podcasts that are mostly speech.

The N4 has the quietest speakers of any phone I've had recently (the past 6 years). I had to use a tweak to make the speakers louder and use PowerAmp so I can make it even louder. This is necessary to hear the music while the phone is in my pocket.

The N4 speakers are OK .. for a phone - louder than my Desire, not quite up with my N95.

Thing is, that's still not that loud in the grand scheme of things. Particularly when you're deaf as post as my missus insists I am ..* :)

* I do not simply ignore her. Honest.

I find the speaker to be really quiet, at least compared to my old S2. Sound quality isn't that great either, but fine for what I need.

Might have to find an app to boost the speaker volume :)

Thanks for the info guys i don't really need the speakers except in the morning to wake me up and i obviously need it full volume just in case lol so far they hasn't been an issue to me sound quality extremely good I'm just scared at one point with all these alarms it might just break i hope not. Anyways thanks for your honest responses.

If it's just for your alarm, you should be fine. :)
