About to root...

Ok, I've finally decided to root my S2, the urge is getting to be too much. Well, I'm on FL24 and I know that the method in the sticky works. I have the drivers installed, Odin3 v1.85 (is that the correct version?) Where I'm stuck on is which version of AGAT do I need to download from the XDA site? AGAT_v0.6.8.tar or AGAT_v0.6.7.tar. Also is there anything I must do to my phone before getting it ready for the root process? I've put SU onto my phones memory, as well.

By the way, what's the best recovery to flash after I get rooted?

Agat 0.6.8 is what you want... And the recovery is in the kernel thats why your flashing it in the first place

To give you a better understanding of what your actually doing I'll break it down for u.

Most of the root guide is only preparing your phone to be recognized by the computer so u can use Odin to put the agat kernel on your phone which has agat custom recovery in it.

After that's done you just need to boot into recovery and flash the super user zip then reboot and you are now done and rooted. Check your app drawer for the super user app of course..

. It will be a breeze

For the record. He is rooted now.

At first Odin told him failed instead of the green success.

After switching USB ports it successfully flashed the agat kernel for him
