I have never ever used a smart phone till this month 
In the profile section I was asked to fill in "phone carrier"; what does that mean?
I have a 2nd hand Motorola moto E 1st generation.
Like I said I'm a noob with smartphones, but I do have some experience with Linux.
Today I even succeed in mounting the phone on my desktop via this tip http://www.mysolutions.it/mounting-your-mtp-androids-sd-card-on-ubuntu/#comment-12944 and thus could place some music on it.
