Root Access Files from Cracked phone

I am trying to access files from my Galaxy S4 on my computer, but I cannot unlock it because both the touch screen and the digitizer are cracked and nothing at all can be displayed on the phone. I've looked for a while but I cannot find a way to unlock the device from the computer without already having it rooted or having a special application pre installed. How could I go about doing this? USB debugging is turned on by the way, if that helps.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for the phone.
Hopefully you can get your computer to recognize the phone and access the folders and files.
If windows just isn't working for you - you can try loading a linux live DVD and accessing the phone from there.

Unfortunately, since your device is not rooted, then you're kind of out of luck for easily accessing the files via usb.

You might be able to extract the internal storage with a program like Odin, but you would probably have to be a Linux expert to get the files out of the image.

The only other ways I can think of to get the files are:
1. Pay some hardware guru to somehow extract the flash chip.
2. Pay to get the screen and digitizer fixed.

Getting your screen fixed seems to be the reasonable solution here.
