Help Access Fonts for Browser Only?

droidB

Lurker
I'm interested in installing some fonts on my phone for use while web browsing only - NOT the overall font on my phone (menus, texts, emails, etc.). I'm on a forum that I'd like some basic Windows fonts to show-up, like Comic Sans & Verdana, on my phone while browsing the forum mobile web site. (Not this site.) Is this possible to access the fonts on my phone? I've tried to search for the default DroidSans.tff file on my phone when connected via USB as a Drive, but couldn't find it even w/ hidden files enabled. Just curious if this is possible without rooting! I'd really like to Root but I'm scared & not sure that it's worth it for the minor customization stuff I'm looking for.

ETA: Is there another browser on Market I could download that supports the fonts on the website instead?

Did you have any luck with this?

The font files are stored in /system/fonts, which is not directly accessible via USB (but is with adb push/pull, provided you have rooted the phone). I have manually added fonts to my /system/fonts directory, but even that doesn't seem to work, which is annoying. I find not having common fonts installed to be unacceptable, and I would at least like the option to put them in myself. I could just be doing something wrong, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of documentation about this.
