It does two things (more or less depending on which phone you have) on the Atrix,

#1 voice readouts, this works when you have a text to speech app (like Loquendo TTS Susan) installed, it say out loud what your text messages say when you receive them, it says who is calling and similar. It helps if you drive a lot or for whatever reason cannot look at your phone when you get calls/messages it will tell you what is going on. But will get very annoying if you leave it on when you do not need it.

#2 Power button ends calls. This helps for multiple reasons. When driving if your phone is sitting down, just like when you hold it to your face, the screen goes dark. Well to end the call you either need to wait for the other caller to end the call, or you have to turn it on and end the call. And when driving can cause issues. By turning this on, just tap the power button to end the call.
