Accessing Droid X Bootloader

I wouldn't celebrate yet. I'm looking for custom ROMs flashed onto the thing before I start jumping for joy. For comparison, the Milestone can be rooted and overclocked, but it can't take custom ROMs.

Why does everyone want to change the ROM's on these things other than because we can? I mean is the one that comes with it that bad?

It's nice to use an optimized (and probably faster) ROM without any bloatware on a phone. Besides, it'll mean that we can put updates on it through custom ROMs before Motorola pushes out updates over the air.
